Model Context Protocol · Official SnapShark server

Your AI assistant,
now a designer

Connect SnapShark to ChatGPT, Claude or your code editor over MCP. Describe a certificate, social card or banner in plain language — the AI designs the template, previews it, and generates the images.

The protocol

What is the Model Context Protocol?

MCP is an open standard that lets AI applications securely use external tools — a universal connector between assistants like ChatGPT and Claude and services like SnapShark. Introduced by Anthropic in 2024, it has become the common language of the AI tool ecosystem, supported by every major AI client.

The SnapShark MCP server exposes your template library and render engine as nine tools the AI can call. The assistant does the thinking with its own vision and reasoning; SnapShark does the pixel-perfect rendering. Your chat subscription covers the AI — you never need your own AI API key.

Every template built in chat lands in your SnapShark dashboard — fine-tune it in the visual editor, generate in bulk from a spreadsheet, or automate it through the REST API. Chat is a third door into the same engine.

Capabilities

Three ways your AI builds templates

From imagination

Describe the design in plain language. The AI composes background, shapes, typography and dynamic fields — then inspects its own preview and iterates until it looks right.

“A navy certificate with gold accents and a serif title”

From an image

Share an existing design in the chat. The AI analyzes it visually and recreates it as a layered template — every piece of text becomes a real, editable text layer.

Flyers · badges · Canva exports · screenshots

From your library

Point at any template in your account. The AI reads its layer spec, makes the change you asked for, and saves it back — with a fresh preview to confirm.

“Make the title bigger and add a date field”

The AI sees what it builds

Every tool call returns a rendered preview image the assistant inspects with its own vision — comparing against your request, fixing positions, sizes and colors, and testing with realistic long values before you ever spend a credit. Design review is built into the loop.

Setup

One URL.
Every AI client.

The server speaks Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1 sign-in — paste the URL, approve once, done. No SDK, no webhook, no API key copy-pasting.

  • OAuth 2.1 with PKCE — revoke anytime from Security & Tokens
  • Works in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code
  • Previews free; only final generations use credits

01Connect once

Paste api.snapshark.io/mcp into your AI client and approve the OAuth sign-in. No API keys, no SDK.

02Describe what you need

A certificate, a social card, an OG image — from a description, an existing design image, or a template already in your account.

03Watch it build & generate

The AI designs, previews, self-corrects, and generates. Every template lands in your dashboard for fine-tuning in the editor.

  1. 1Open Claude → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. 2Paste the server URL below and click Add.
  3. 3Claude redirects you to SnapShark to sign in and approve — that's it. Ask Claude for a certificate or social card and watch it build the template.

The toolbox

Nine tools, zero glue code

Everything your assistant needs to go from idea to delivered image — discovered automatically the moment you connect.

create_template

Build a new template from a layer spec the AI designs — returns a rendered preview it can inspect and refine.

update_template

Replace a template's layers with a corrected spec. The AI iterates until the preview matches the target.

get_template_spec

Read any existing template as an editable spec — the bridge between the visual editor and the AI.

render_preview

Test-render with sample values — long names, real dates — without consuming any credits.

list_templates

Browse your template library by name, type and size, straight from the chat.

get_template_variables

List the dynamic variables a template accepts at generation time.

generate_image

Produce the final CDN-hosted image — appears in your render history like any other generation.

request_upload_link

One-click browser upload link for design files the AI needs as a hosted image.

check_upload

Pick up the hosted URL once your upload completes, ready to use in a template.

In practice

What teams build from the chat

Certificates from a sentence

“Make a completion certificate for our Python course” — the AI designs it, marks name and date dynamic, and each generated certificate gets a QR-verified page.

Social cards in your brand

Recreate your best-performing post as a template once, then ask the assistant for this week's variant — new quote, new speaker, same brand.

OG images while you code

From Claude Code or Cursor: scaffold an OG-image template for your blog and generate one per post without leaving the editor.

Recreate any design

Drop a flyer, badge or banner into the chat. The AI rebuilds it as a layered, editable template — no more frozen pixels.

Prefer code over chat? The same engine powers the REST API and certificate verification.
